The Astrea Academy Trust

Salary Range: £ Competitive

Contract Type: Permanent, Full-time

Location: Various across South Yorkshire

The Astrea Academy Trust is a multi-academy trust which is committed to inspiring beyond measure. Our Academies – primary, secondary and all-through – do not subscribe to the ‘schooling’ stance of a results-driven philosophy but rather state emphatically that education is about much more than just attainment.

The Astrea Academy Trust is seeking outstanding Science practitioners at all levels. We have fantastic opportunities for Lead Practitioners, Heads of Departments and Teachers (Years 7 to 13) across Doncaster, Sheffield and the Dearne. Applications from NQTs are also warmly welcomed.

Candidates will need to demonstrate;

  • Outstanding classroom teaching
  • Experience of raising attainment
  • The ability to work collaboratively to secure the best outcomes for all students
  • Excellent interpersonal skills

If you are motivated by contributing to a culture of constant improvement, and if you are seeking to improve outcomes for young people, then we would love to hear from you. We welcome all applicants apply for these exciting roles via an Astrea application form. We would welcome applications from candidates who are available for either an immediate, September 2018 or January 2019 start.

The Trust is committed to high quality professional development and career opportunities for all staff as we are passionate about cultivating our own talented workforce. At Astrea we believe that we can provide these unique roles by providing a huge opportunity to join a dynamic and rapidly expanding team. For the right candidate there is also the opportunity for extensive CPD the prospect to network with other Academies within the trust.

With over twenty academies within the group across South Yorkshire and Cambridgeshire, plus the purpose built, all-though Astrea Academy Sheffield due to open in September 2018, the Trust continues to grow and inspire beyond measure. To complement the intrinsic rewards which we award to our teachers and to demonstrate our commitment to them, in September 2017 the Astrea Academy Trust awarded all teaching staff a 2% pay increase which was above the recommended increase of 1% from the School Teachers Review Body.

For more information about the roles available please contact our Recruitment Officer Vicki Russell at recruitment@astreaacademytrust.org
