Maple Medical PRU: The Mulberry Unit

The Mulberry Unit at Maple Medical PRU, along with the Headteacher and management committee are seeking to appoint 3 ambitious and outstanding teachers to join their team on a permanent basis from January 2019.

The Mulberry Unit is a specialist provision that provides KS2 and KS3 children who have a diagnosis of Autism or who are awaiting diagnosis and have significant speech, language and communication needs. Mulberry is an exciting provision that was opened in October 2016, and has continued to positively thrive ever since. We are looking for very special people to join our happy and successful unit. We are very proud of our unit's caring, positive atmosphere. We work hard to provide a supportive and stimulating environment where every child can get the best qualifications possible; live independent lives; function in society; have friends and positive relationships; and be safe.

These are exciting opportunities for the right candidates. We can offer you a supportive committed staff team; a welcoming happy place to work; opportunities for continuous professional development; and pupils that will never cease to inspire and reward you. We expect the successful candidates to have high expectations of the pupils and themselves; to be good team players; motivated and inspirational teachers with an enthusiastic, positive outlook and a good sense of humour.

  • Are you an outstanding teacher who can inspire and motivate pupils with SEND to achieve their full potential?
  • Are you dedicated, flexible, hardworking, and someone who has high standards of themselves and others?
  • Are you a person of integrity, empathy and compassion?
  • Are you a person with professional drive and determination?
  • Are you looking for the challenge of curriculum leadership?
  • Will you be committed to inclusion and to providing exciting and stimulating learning opportunities for pupils of all abilities?

If you answered yes to the above, then you could be the teacher that we are looking for, and we would love to hear from you.

We can offer:

  • Pupils who enjoy learning, ask questions and try their best.
  • A positive working environment.
  • A school ethos which believes firmly in educating the whole child.
  • A commitment to further professional development.
  • A dedicated whole school team, who are committed to providing the best education for our pupils.

Applications from both outstanding NQTs, as well as more experienced teachers are welcome.

Visits to the unit are strongly recommended. Prospective candidates who wish to arrange a visit should contact either Lois Gore - Mulberry Teacher in Charge on 01302 572796 or 07881502068 or Jane Morgan - Maple Assistant Headteacher on 01302 642784.

Visit dates: Thursday 20th September at 4.00pm and Thursday 27th September at 4.00pm. To attend the pre-planned visits please contact Lois Gore or Jane Morgan as above.

Application Closing Date: Monday 1st October 2018

Shortlisting Date: Thursday 4th October 2018
