The candidate will provide cover supervision for pupil lessons to ensure they can continue to learn and access learning resources in the absence of teaching staff; this will include the development and maintenance of resources under the direction of learning zone staff.   In addition to providing cover when needed a key part of this role is to provide efficient administrative support for the Learning Zone and for whole school careers activities and events.  

The candidate will be assigned to the COMMUNICATE Learning Zone (which delivers English, English Literature, Modern Foreign Languages, Film Studies and EAL), and the MAP strategy (which delivers PSHE) but may be required to cover other subject areas as needed.   

Candidates will have the skills required to work with pupils and as a member of a team and will have as a minimum GCSE A* - C in English, Maths and Science and have strong administrative skills.  In addition we would prefer a candidate who is educated to degree level in a relevant subject.  Candidates must also be able to evidence their ability to work with pupils and to provide an effective learning experience and environment. In addition to which candidates must be able to evidence their administrative and organisational skills to effectively undertake the duties required of the post.  

Candidates will be truly committed to supporting pupils to progress and achieve, have high aspirations for the pupils’ success and will contribute to ongoing planning with imaginative and dynamic ideas.  To enhance pupils’ learning and create independence, all pupils and staff are provided with an electronic device.
