Sector Growth Officer – Manufacturing and Construction

This is an exciting time for Doncaster. With over £1 billion of redevelopment investment since the millennium, Doncaster has seen its skyline transformed. Major developments such as Doncaster Sheffield Airport and The IPort have created thousands of jobs and significant ongoing investments.

We are looking to further grow our economy with the appointment of a Sector Growth Officer – Manufacturing and Construction

This is a key post in Doncaster Council’s Investment team (Business Doncaster) and will be responsible for leading the development of the manufacturing, engineering and construction sectors in order to deliver new inward investment, indigenous sector growth and jobs, The role will require the successful candidate to work with the manufacturing, engineering and construction industry to grow the Doncaster economy and exploit all opportunities within the sectors including major capital and skills investment, collaboration, supply chain initiatives and other similar projects. The post holder is expected to actively contribute towards the teams KPIs in relation to generating inward investment into Doncaster, creating new jobs for Doncaster residents and increased GVA into the Doncaster Economy.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, experienced Business Development Manager with knowledge of the Manufacturing, Engineering and / or Construction sectors to engage with potential investors, and local expanding Doncaster businesses

The role demands a highly flexible, well organised individual who has a track record of delivery and a good knowledge of the local business landscape.
